Rabbi Stan Levin

Rabbi Stan Levin is a native Washingtonian with a degree in Film and Theatre from New York University. He was a documentary film maker for the US Department of Agriculture, field producer for A&E’s Biography of Larry King, and has written and produced radio and TV commercials and government public service announcements. 

Over the years, he has also been a nationally syndicated film critic for Tribune Broadcasting, appeared locally as the film critic on Montgomery Cable TV News, and wrote for The Washington Globe newspaper. He co-hosted the Screening Room for Montgomery Cable TV, a half-hour show covering movies available on videotape. 

He is a board member and frequent moderator for Cinema Arts Bethesda, and has spoken extensively in the Washington area on contemporary films, movie history, and Jewish culture.  He conducted the Film Study group for the Brandeis University National Women’s Club for 19 years and he teaches courses in film history for Johns Hopkins’ Osher program.
