Rabbi Joshua Maroof

Rabbi Joshua Maroof is rabbi of Magen David Sephardic Congregation in Rockville, Maryland. Prior to his arrival at Magen David Sephardic Congregation, Rabbi Maroof was rabbi of Beth Aharon Sephardic Congregation in Riverdale, New York. He also served as the Rabbinical Director of Ben Porat Yosef, a Sephardic day school in New Jersey and as the Director of an advanced Judaic studies program for women.

Rabbi Maroof received his baccalaureate degree with honors from the State University of New York at Stony Brook and his master's degree in Educational Psychology from the City University of New York (CUNY). He received rabbinical ordination from Rabbi Yisrael Chait, Rosh Yeshiva of Yeshiva B'nai Torah in Far Rockaway, New York.

Rabbi Maroof is a creative writer and poet. He has authored many essays and papers addressing the fundamental issues related to Judaism. During his tenure in New York, he was a teacher and counselor at Jewish day schools, post-high school yeshivot and seminaries.
