Capitalism and the Jews

Tikvat Israel Congregation

Dates: Sunday, January 10, 2016
Time: 7:30 pm - 9:00 pm
Speaker: Professor Jerry Z. Muller

Jerry Z. Muller, Professor of History at the Catholic University of America, will speak on the role of Jews in the history and development of capitalism.   He examines the sources of Jewish success in modern capitalist societies, and the political reactions of those who feel that Jews have enjoyed a disproportionate degree of success.  Within the context of this historical inquiry, Dr. Muller asks why the subject of capitalism and the Jews remains a highly sensitive subject in many quarters.
