Rabbi Nissan Antine is the Associate Rabbi and Director of Education at Beth Sholom Congregation.

This class will explore the moral and ritual questions and answers asked by the residents of various ghettos and concentration camps and answered by their rabbis.

Sample Questions are:

  • May one convert to Christianity to Save Life?
  • Should One put on Tefilin in the Ghetto even if this endangers your life?
  • Is it permitted to remove the Concentration Camp numbers Tattoo?
  • Fasting on Yom Kippur in the Ghetto when one is starving
  • May a Kapo blow the Shofar?
  • Should Blessings be made on non-kosher food in the Concentration Camps?
