
Gideon Amir
Gideon Amir was born in Holland to Holocaust Survivors and moved to Israel as a young boy. After high school, Mr. Amir volunteered as a paratrooper in the Israel Defense Forces. After his discharge, Mr. Amir earned a bachelor’s degree in mathematics from Hebrew University and a master’s degree in computer science from the Weitzman Institute. In Beersheva, Mr. Amir founded and ran a Computer Sciences Department at a community college.
Mr. Amir has a passion for teaching Judaic studies. After coming to the United States, he enrolled in a full time graduate program in Judaic Studies at Baltimore Hebrew University, receiving his master’s degree in 2001. Mr. Amir now teaches the Bible at various adult education institutes, including synagogues and churches.
