Dr. Miriam Isaacs
Dr. Miriam Isaacs has been the Visiting Associate Professor of Yiddish at the University of Maryland, College Park since 1995. She received her Ph.D. from Cornell University.
Dr. Isaacs specializes in Yiddish language and culture, and sociolinguistics, and she continues her scholarship on Yiddish language among Hasidic Jews. Her teaching includes basic Yiddish language and literature in the original and in translation, as well as courses on Yiddish theater and film, fantasy and the supernatural in Yiddish literature and on Holocaust and post-Holocaust literature.
