
Rabbi Dr. Levi Cooper
Rabbi Dr. Levi Cooper, originally from Australia, teaches at the Pardes Institute of Jewish Studies in Jerusalem and serves as the spiritual leader of Kehillat HaTzur VeHaTzohar in Tzur Hadassah, a mixed religious and secular neighbourhood. He holds an LLB and LLM from Bar Ilan University and was recently awarded a doctorate from the Faculty of Law.
Rabbi Dr. Cooper served in the IDF’s Golani Brigade and continues to perform Reserve Duty as a commander in an infantry unit. He is a member of the Israel Bar Association, the Tzohar rabbis organization, an educational advisor to the Jewish community of Istanbul, Turkey, and an historian with Heritage Seminars. he has authored articles in Judaic studies and prepared educational materials for use in Jewish schools. He publishes a column in the Jerusalem Post and is a contributing editor for Jewish Educational Leadership, the journal of Bar-Ilan University’s Lookstein Center, and he offers biweekly posts on Hasidic lore for Pardes. He also serves as the rabbi of the Lavi primary school, a school he established with his wife, Sarah.
