
Distinguished Scholar Series
The Distinguished Scholar Series brings scholars of international reputation to the greater Washington DC community to lecture on a variety of subjects of Jewish interest. Past speakers have included Professor James Kugel speaking about how to read the Bible; Professor Arthur Green on Mysticism; Professor David Ruderman on false Messiahs; Dr. Michael Walzer on War and the Jewish Tradition; Herschel Shanks on the Dead Sea Scrolls; and many other speakers of similar expertise. Distinguished Scholar lectures are generally held on weekday evenings and, unless otherwise noted, there is no charge for these events.

Bible Study Center
The Bible Study Center provides an opportunity to delve deeply into the text of the Bible with a local Judaic scholar. For 2010-2011, the class will focus on the first Book of Samuel. The Bible Study Center is held on Sunday mornings from September through June at the Dennis and Philip Ratner Museum in Bethesda, Maryland.

Holiday Weekend Study Retreats
Holiday Weekend Study Retreats offer adult learners two days of in-depth study with scholars and master teachers in a retreat setting. Past topics have included Jewish philosophers, interpreting Jewish texts, Islam, Christianity, Mysticism, and the Messiah. Weekend Study Retreats are held Sunday-Monday on the weekends of Presidents Day, Memorial Day and Labor Day.

Lunch and Learn - Maryland
Lunch and Learn Bible Study Groups meet weekly to discuss Biblical texts and political, moral and religious issues suggested by the text. The study groups are led by area Rabbis and other local scholars. Lunch and Learn classes are held at 12:15 pm each Wednesday in Rockville, Maryland

Lunch and Learn Bible Study Groups meet weekly to discuss Biblical texts and political, moral and religious issues suggested by the text. The study groups are led by area Rabbis and other local scholars. Lunch and Learn classes are held at 12:00 pm each Tuesday in Northern Virginia.
