JT Waldman is an illustrator, digital designer, and author of a graphic novel retelling of the Book of Esther.

This presentation will explore the religious and cultural origins of the movement built around Jewish identity and the land of Israel. Using Waldman's work in his illustrated Megillat Esther and Not the Israel My Parents Promised Me as the tableau, this lecture will cover Jewish modes of self-representation, the visual history of Zionism, and the current state of affairs within the world of "comix."
